As the author of Accounting & Financial Management for Residential Construction, now in its 5th edition, Emma Shinn literally wrote the book on accounting methods for the industry. She has a unique ability to explain accounting and financial statements so everyone can understand, and master, these important concepts.
Builder Partnerships was founded by Charles (Chuck) C. Shinn, Jr., of Shinn Consulting. For over 35 years, Chuck has provided management consulting services and educational seminars exclusively to the housing industry. Through Shinn Consulting, Chuck and his team work with builder clients to help them realize greater profits and efficiencies. Chuck has also spent 35 years working with manufacturers through NAHB's NCHI. He has been co-chair of the organization and also chaired the education committee. As part of his efforts with manufacturers, he led several seminars on "How Builders Buy".
Chuck started Builder Partnerships to address the many issues and barriers to effective communication between builders and manufacturers. Bringing his expertise and strong relationships with builders together with his experience working with the manufacturers, Chuck has created this innovative organization to meet the needs of both parties.
Our builder members include top performers among regional home builders. Many of these companies have been recognized by home building professional magazines and local Home Builder Associations (HBAs) for their successful management styles; they are considered spheres of influence within their communities. Builder Partnerships members operate across the country, with a high concentration in the major markets throughout the United States and Canada. Each produces from 10 to well over 1,000 units per year; ranging in price from $150,000 to over $4,000,000.
Builder Partnerships has established agreements with leading manufacturers across a wide spectrum of product groups relevant to the home building industry. Also, we have wide representation of associates within product groups to allow the builder to be able to select the manufacturer products that work best for their communities.
