Dave Burleigh began his homebuilding career in 2004, for DR Horton’s largest division, Continental Homes. He was assigned as a purchasing agent for back-end trades covering all categories from paint to clean. Dave quickly realized that unitized pricing would be the most efficient way to manage his trades. Upon the market collapse, Dave and his family relocated to Salt Lake City, where Dave quickly accepted a position for the regions’ largest Multi-Family developer. He quickly set-out to introduce unitized pricing across all trades for their projects.
A few years later, Dave was given the opportunity to head up purchasing for a hospitality developer. As in previous operations, Dave quickly moved to introduce unitized pricing to the development and remodels of hotels across the region. Shortly after developing the system, Dave was presented the opportunity to return to homebuilding, spearheading the implementation of estimating and purchasing systems for a new market expansion in Utah.
