Founders

Charles C. Shinn, Jr., PhD | President

Builder Partnerships and Shinn Consulting founder Charles C. (Chuck) Shinn Jr. has been focused on improving management standards and profitability within the home building industry for 50 years. He has led management training programs across North America, helping home builders cut costs, improve operations, and increase profits. Chuck also has worked with manufacturers as cochair of NAHB's Leading Suppliers Council. He holds a BA in economics and an MBA and PhD in business administration.

Emma S. Shinn, CPA, MBA | V.P., CFO

Emma is a CPA with an MBA in accounting from the College of Business Administration at American University in Washington, DC. She is the author of Accounting and Financial Management for Residential Construction. Emma has the unique ability to explain accounting and financial principles to non-accountants to allow them to utilize these concepts in the management process. She is a regular speaker at management seminars and national and regional conferences. Since 1993, Emma has conducted an annual financial and operational survey and analysis of more than 100 home builders.

Operations & Administration

Terry Nickels | Chief Operations Officer

Terry administers all day-to-day operations and administrative activities of Builder Partnerships. He works on project implementations, manages relationships with our manufacturers, builders, and vendors. Terry has a B.A. in Business Administration and prior to his coming to Builder Partnerships, Terry had 15+ years of experience in the financial services industry. His roles have varied from CFO, VP of Finance, Financial and Operations Principal, Controller, and others in firms with revenue streams up to and exceeding $500 million. Terry has been with Builder Partnerships since 2015 and is originally from Colorado.

Emma Jane Wildermuth, MBA | VP of Consulting & Educational Services/Chief Admin. Officer

Emma Jane coordinates the logistics for our seminars, trade shows, builder group meetings and virtual events. She manages Home Builder University (HBU) and Webinar Wednesday. Emma Jane also provides support for our consultants and assists with meeting facilitation. Emma Jane has been with Builder Partnerships since 1998 and is originally from Colorado.

Lisa Putnam | Program Manager

Lisa manages registrations and materials for our educational events. She manages our award program and our Builder of Choice and Employer of Choice performance review survey program. Lisa is involved in the administration and tracking of Shinn Consulting initiatives. She is the editor of our Monthly Briefing newsletter and develops many of our marketing campaigns and materials. Lisa has been with Builder Partnerships since 2017 and is originally from Colorado.

Adria Marino | Communications and Marketing Manager

Adria Marino has a BFA in graphic design from MSU Denver. She supports our manufacturer and service provider members in maintaining their marketing messages on our platforms and sharing news and product information with our builder community. She is the point of contact for our members interested in taking advantage of our marketing and sponsorship opportunities. Her previous roles have varied from assistant property manager and production designer to marketing director with non-profits, international corporations, and start-up firms. Adria has been with Builder Partnerships since 2022 and is eager to help you with all communication and marketing needs!

Gara Gould | Events Coordinator

Gara coordinates the logistics for the seminars, trade shows, and builder group meetings, and arranges travel for our staff and consultants. She maintains content for our online Home Builder University (HBU) courses in our Learning Management System. Gara has been with Builder Partnerships since 2021 and is from Colorado.

Sheilah Springston | CPA, Controller

Sheilah oversees the accounting for Builder Partnerships and manages the rebate process for both manufacturers and builders. Sheilah has a CPA and a BBA in Public Accounting and prior to her coming to Builder Partnerships, Sheilah had over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Her roles have varied from Auditor to Accounting Manager. Sheilah has been with Builder Partnerships since 2022 and is originally from Michigan.

Dalila de Vasquez | Accounting

Dalila reconciles the manufacturer and builder payments. Additionally, she works in the website and provides general accounting support with the billing and payments functions. Dalila has been with Builder Partnerships since 2012 and is originally from El Salvador.

Chris Dos | Off-site IT

Chris is our main contact for information technology systems design and support. Chris also assists with help desk and server support, cyber security, email support and hardware purchasing and upgrades. Chris has been with Builder Partnerships / Shinn Consulting since 2003 and is originally from Colorado.

Relationship Managers

Zac Degnan | Senior Relationship Manager

Zac works to connect and support our manufacturer members with our builder members, to gain personal relationships between the two. He also works with our manufacturer members to provide them with our up-to-date information, builder list and special reporting. Zac assists our new builder members with: the sign-up process, rebate submissions, special rebate program set-up and outreach for new programs. Zac has been with Builder Partnerships since 2017 and is originally from Maine.

Megan Wilson | Relationship Manager

Megan works with our builder members to maintain our ongoing excellent relationships we have with them. She inputs builder rebate submissions into our database, personally reaches out to our builders to keep them well-informed about their accounts and updates our builder contact information. Megan has been with Builder Partnerships since 2020 and is a native to Colorado.

Consultants

Ed Hauck | Senior Consultant

Ed excels at helping builders reduce direct construction cost, streamline operations, and guide product design towards efficiency and cost control.

  • Areas of expertise: operational efficiency, purchasing, value engineering, design centers.

Jim Weigel | Senior Consultant

Jim specializes in helping builders implement effective management systems with a focus on disciplined leadership and performance excellence to increase revenue.

  • Areas of expertise: management, marketing, sales, finance, quality, valuation, owner transition.

Richard Kashian | Consultant

Rich has built and sold two software companies, Simpad and Kova Solutions to MiTek USA. Simpad's Blackpoint software was focused on CAD options and materials information from BIM, and Kova Solutions provided full Operations Management Software. Presently, Rich is the Division President of BIMaire, providing digital marketing software, estimating and BIM Solutions.

  • Areas of expertise: Provides a full technology review to identify opportunities for improvement to the clients overall technology applications, implementing software solutions for homebuilders.

Carrie Roeger | Consultant

Carrie has vast operational experience, from land acquisition to warranty service. Helping builders streamline their operations to grow and improve profitability is her specialty.

  • Areas of expertise: operational efficiency, strategic planning, change management, ERP software implementation, culture, HR.

Dave Burleigh | Consultant

Dave is passionate about Unit Price Measurement (UPM) and helping builders improve the accuracy of their estimates to reduce direct construction cost.

  • Areas of expertise: estimating, construction efficiency, material waste reduction.

Jason Cook | Consultant

Jason has more than 25 years of experience working in both custom and production home building. As a private custom builder, he honed many of his skills and learned the essentials of running his own business. Jason worked for a regional production builder in the superintendent role and rose up the ranks to division construction manager. He then spent time with a local production builder as VP of Operations.
  • Areas of expertise: field audits, quality, schedule management, superintendent training.

Kim Dickson | Consultant

Kim has more than 18 years of experience working with a semi-custom home builder. She started out working in IT and Process Management then became Director of Builder Training and spent the last three years as Director of Purchasing. 
  • Areas of expertise: purchasing, negotiations, processes, scheduling, quality control.

Brad Bombardiere | Service Partner / Web Developer - Director of Software Engineering

Brad is the director of software engineering and owner of Reality Concepts. He manages the programing behind the scenes and the front-end marketing strategies for various homebuilders as well as Builder Partnerships. With over 20 years of experience in working with homebuilders and their online presence, he is well acquainted with the industry. Brad has worked with Builder Partnerships since 2008 and is a Colorado native.
