The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal reports on a new large subdivision coming to West Lubbock, Texas.

Betenbough Homes recently broke ground on its newest subdivision in West Lubbock.

Upland Crossing, south of 19th Street on Upland Avenue, will eventually have 870 new homes. Neighborhood features will include a large park and smaller “pocket parks,” a concept new to Betenbough developments. There are 24 home designs planned for the subdivision.

The new community falls in the Frenship Independent School District, a location trend the home builder has followed in recent years.

“Frenship ISD and Southwest Lubbock are growing at a rapid rate. This is exciting for Lubbock, and we want to offer affordable housing to help sustain city growth,” said Ky Thomas, Betenbough Homes sales manager, in a news release. “That’s where we are able to bring our expertise and offer these growing families value in the marketplace and a most importantly, a place to call home.”

The new development will add to a recent milestone for the home building group. Betenbough recently announced they have closed on 10,000 homes.
