For many individuals and organizations looking to give to faith-based causes, the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA) stands as a beacon of wise financial counsel. Known for their commitment to integrity and accountability, the ECFA has provided peace of mind for Christian donors for over 40 years.
It is with great joy that we announce that Homes for HOPE has completed the accreditation process and has been awarded the certified ECFA seal of approval! Through this very thorough process, the Homes for HOPE team and our board of directors were challenged to answer probing questions and provide information on how our processes are maintained and how donated funds are managed.
Our organizational values of faithfulness and honesty call us to openness and transparency as we steward the funds entrusted to us in the fight against global poverty, but the pursuit of accreditation was fueled by an even more personal motivation. Our Executive Director, Matt Baehr, shares, “Both as a donor and a professional in the nonprofit space, when I’m evaluating if an organization can be trusted and is worthy of partnership, one of the first things I look for is an ECFA seal of accreditation. We are so grateful for ECFA’s careful and thorough examination of our organization and truly count it a privilege to receive their recognition and accreditation.” As individuals we trust ECFA, and we have personally experienced the assurance their stamp of approval provides for donors.
We are excited to add this ECFA accreditation to the list of certifications Homes for HOPE has already received from reputable organizations committed to transparency and stewardship, including Charity Navigator, Excellence in Giving, and GuideStar. We are committed to honoring the Lord in all that we do, and we appreciate the accreditation organizations that recognize that commitment. We hope that each step we take toward transparency and accreditation provides assurance for our partners and builds a bridge of trust to potential future partners.
