The Sorella community will offer 433 homesites from M/I Homes and 405 from Newmark and Beazer Homes.

M/I Homes and Johnson Development Services have started construction on a joint development project, the Sorella community in Houston, which will offer a total of 838 homesites across 238 acres in Harris County.

The community expects lot delivery by the end of the year, with model and inventory homes available by spring 2023. Lots will include a mix of 40- and 50-foot sites, plus half-acre sites situated around a lake.

M/I Homes will be the exclusive builder on 433 of Sorella’s 838 homesites, offering homes in its Smart Series priced from the $200,000s. “The Smart Series is extremely nimble, with multiple structural customizations so buyers can add bedrooms, media rooms, additional outdoor living space, and more,” says Jay McManus, Houston division president for M/I Homes. “And by offering professionally curated design packages, we’re able to keep home prices more affordable.”

Johnson Development Services plans to sell the remaining 405 homesites to Newmark Homes and Beazer Homes. Community amenities will include a resort-style pool, pavilion, event lawn, lakeside walking trails, and multiple playgrounds. Next door, the Kleb Woods Nature Preserve offers trails, a picnic area, a scout campground, a nature center, and a bird blind.

“This is a fast-growing area with excellent access to major thoroughfares, including the Grand Parkway and Highway 249,” says Michael Cox, president of Johnson Development Services. “Sorella will offer a laidback lifestyle without sacrificing easy access to everyday conveniences.”
