Instead of focusing on our needs as an organization this #GivingTuesday, Homes for HOPE would like to highlight three of our generous builder partners and celebrate the impact of their recent gifts! This last blog will focus on our friends at Providence Homes in Jacksonville, FL. Please read to the end where we’ll provide a recommendation for one last building industry related non-profit that we love and respect. We joyfully encourage you to consider supporting them, or any of the other remarkable charities we showcased today.
Homes for HOPE would like to thank Bill Cellar, his family, and the amazing team at Providence Homes for their generous gift of $100,000! This enables us to provide biblically based training, savings services, and loans for almost 5,400 families living in underserved communities around the world this year alone! And as loans are paid back, the money is sent back out as more loans investing in even more families and breaking the cycle of generational poverty.
For over 25 years Providence Homes has been recognized locally and nationally for award-winning and innovative designs. They take great pride in building homes people love to live in. Additionally, for almost 18 years, Bill has served faithfully as a Homes for HOPE board member and is currently one of our top all-time donors. At the beginning of 2020 we had planned to start a Homes for HOPE project in one of Providence Homes’ new communities. However, with the uncertainty we were experiencing at the beginning of the pandemic that prospect became less likely. Bill was undeterred and along with his team decided to commit to give $50,000 instead! As time went on and the building industry served as a catalyst for our nation’s economic recovery, Bill wanted to do more for the entrepreneurs HOPE serves around the world…so he gave another $25,000. Then, earlier this month, vigilant in his care for others and the fight against poverty, he gave yet another $25,000! We are so very grateful for Bill’s advocacy and selfless service in the mission of Homes for HOPE.
