Homes for HOPE is delighted to announce that
Providence Homes is the recipient of our second annual Bigelow Award. This award is named in honor of Perry Bigelow, who served as Homes for HOPE’s board president for over twenty years before he went home to be with the LORD in July 2022.
Given to one partner each year who embodies our organizational values of Faithfulness, Perseverance, Honesty, and Creativity, the Bigelow Award also recognizes longevity in partnership, generosity, and passionate advocacy for our mission. Since launching their first Homes for HOPE Project in 2002, Providence Homes has raised nearly one million dollars to support HOPE’s programs, which holistically alleviate poverty in more than twenty countries worldwide.
We’re especially proud to celebrate Providence Homes’ commitment to our cause. Bill Cellar, the founder of Providence Homes, served on our board of directors and as treasurer for almost two decades. Meanwhile, their President and COO, Sean Junker, has led his team through seven Homes for HOPE Projects, facilitated generous grants to support our work in years without projects, and uses his influence to passionately advocate for our mission.
Not content with simply supporting Homes for HOPE, Providence Homes also invests in other local charitable organizations that focus on education, home repairs for the elderly, workforce development, and combating homelessness and sex trafficking in the Jacksonville, FL region. We applaud their dedication to making a difference in these crucial areas.
Please join us in congratulating Providence Homes for winning the 2023 Bigelow Award. We are so grateful for their partnership and look forward to continuing to work together to give talented people living in underserved areas around the world a hand-up, not a handout.
