Thomas Berrington Expands Technology and Innovation Expertise
Thomas Berrington has joined Shinn Group as the Director of Information Systems and Business Technology. He offers deep expertise in information systems and digital transformation within the home building industry. Most recently he served as Chief Information Officer at French Brothers, where he has led the company’s technology strategy since 2022.
Under his direction, Shinn Group will leverage technology—including AI—to automate its systems and make 50 years of deep industry knowledge more accessible and helpful for our builder clients. Berrington brings his years of experience working with private home builders to the organization and will lead its digital transformation initiatives, enhancing both customer experience and operational efficiency.
In addition to his functions for Shinn Group, Berrington will advise home builders on technology strategy and development projects, refining data systems, and improving all digital processes. A major goal will be helping them implement proven AI systems to drive operational efficiency, increase competitive advantage, and become better builders.
Berrington holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Information Systems and an MBA from New Mexico State University, along with multiple professional certifications. He is active in IT and home building industry communities and is widely recognized for his innovative leadership and commitment to excellence
Paul Winegar Brings Proven Operational Leadership
Paul Winegar joins Shinn Group with 20 years of experience in the home building industry and a track record of scaling production, improving margins, and building disciplined operational cultures. His background spans construction management, scheduling optimization, purchasing and estimating efficiency, operational management, product design, building efficiency, and leadership.
Winegar began his career in 2006 with a national home builder before serving as a Superintendent for a custom builder. In 2012, he joined Willow Branch Homes, where he rose through the ranks from Executive Vice President to President and ultimately to Chief Operating Officer. During his tenure, he helped grow the company from 12 annual closings in its first year to more than 200 in 2024, while simultaneously improving cycle times and gross margins and strengthening process accountability across the organization
At Shinn Group, Winegar will focus on helping builders streamline operations, improve production performance, and implement scalable systems that drive profitability.
