Garage door manufacturer Wayne Dalton is offering its first extruded aluminum exterior security shutter, designed for extra security for exterior access to residential properties. The Model 523RX Security Shutter is made to be installed at the driveway access from the street or at residential property entrances in high-traffic areas.

The Model 523RX is a UL 325 listed residential exterior security shutter opener, and features a weather-resistant motor enclosure for operation. The motor offers direct drive shutter operation, monitored photo eyes, and automatic force detection. “We wanted a subtle, yet reliable solution that gives homeowners peace of mind when it comes to protecting one of their most valuable assets, their home,” Castro says.
The door is available in fully perforated or fenestrated patterns, offering either 22% or 24% open area, in sizes up to 16 feet high and 12 feet wide. Buyers can choose from four standard powder coat colors—silver, bronze, white, or almond—select a custom powder coat color from approximately 200 RAL colors, or request a color match to architect specifications.
